This book explores the problems of Leadership and development in the Arab World with emphasis on how different types of leaders affect different policies of development and how they go about doing their job (the art of persuasion). It also deals with the ways leaders link society, and how these links relate to the success or failure of a given plan of action. These issues are discussed in relation to different structures and environments - to the private or the public sector; to bureaucracies, cabinets, and parliaments; to complex organizations and voluntary associations; to the broader Arab society as well as to small local communities. The contributors to this volume deal with leaders and managers parliamentarians, entrepreneurs, bureaucrats, specific Arab regimes and with religious and women leaders.
