Dr. David Nicolle, Honourary Reasearch Fellow in the institute of Medievel Studies at Nottingham University (England), is a specialist in the history of medieval arms and armour, particularly that of the islamic peoples. He was written several academic books and articles on this and related subjects, including: Arms and Armour of the Crusading Era (2volumes) and Crusader Warfare (2 volumes). He has also written a much larger number of smaller books as well as articles on social and military history for a general readership.
