The present book deals with a small complex of buildings, excavated between 1978 and 1981, located in the vicinty of Qanawat, the ancient city of Canat (h)a, at the hill crowned by the sanctuary of Baalshamin. This installation took place beside a road leading from the city of Sweida to the villages situated on the Eastern slope of Jabal al-'Arab and to the steppic areas further East. It shows well preserved structures, intended for distinct purposes and related to two different periods of its history.
