In the Genesis of Nations, Sa'ade elaborates on defining what a nation is, how it evolves within the context of human development and its relation to sociology proper. The author refers to the fact that since Ibn Khaldun's famous Introduction to history[Prolegomena], no other sociological book in Arabic had appeared. Sa'ade also mentions that political conditions made it difficult for him revise this book.
